 In recognition of the National Week Without Violence,

 

ROC (Rural Outreach Committee) will be sponsoring its 9th Annual Community March and Ecumenical Service to support Victims and Survivors of Violence. The theme this year will be "Spirit of Optimism" The March will begin on Sunday October 18 at 1:30 pm at the parking lot across from the locks in Buckhorn. Led by an OPP Honour guard and the band students at Lakefield Collegiate Secondary School we will march or ride up Lakehurst Road and arrive at the Buckhorn Community Centre. The service begins at 2pm. The Buckhorn Community Centre will be decorated with hundreds of T-Shirts displaying anti-violence and peace messages, created by the students from Apsley, Bobcaygeon, Buckhorn, Chemong, Curve Lake, Lakefield College, Lakefield Secondary, Lakefield Intermediate, Ridpath and St. Paul’s schools.
