Just want to make a quick mention here about the Peterborough Firefighters at the Peterborough Pete's game on Thursday night.  I stopped by the Memorial Centre to catch the Pete's play the Bulls, and the Peterborough Firefighters where there raising money for Haitian relief efforts.  They were there in full uniform (which probably was one of the better things to be wearing that night, it's was a cold night and I'm sure those uniforms are pretty warm).  Some of the guys had their boots off and where collecting donations in their rubber boats.  It wasn't the best smelling way of collecting donations, but it definitely caught my attention.  Plus I was surprised at how much change you can fit into a rubber boat.

Anyways, I just wanted to say "good on ya" PTBO Firefighters for being there Thursday night, and good on everybody in this community who have been fundraising in a multitude of different ways.  We have been flooded here at the station with announcements of fundraising activities.

It is well known that when things are bad Peterborough comes out in droves to help, and it's been proved once again.
