O' Canada...new lyric?

Yesterday's throne speech was a little bizarre.  The Conservatives have considered changing the lyrics to the national anthem to appease a small group of Canadians, among them women's rights groups.  It's suggested that the current line "in all thy sons command" isn't gender-neutral enough for some. The solution is to go back to the original lyric from the 1908 version "thou dost in us command". Bad idea. Waste of money. Not sexist. Those were just a few sentiments reflected by you good Wolf listener today, among others.  We heard from a feminist who isn't offended by this.  We talked to your MP Heritage Minister Dean Del Mastro, who said he personally hadn't had any complaints from people regarding the lyrics.b We even called the lady who name was published in the Toronto Star for sending her MP an email saying that she has never felt comfortable singing those lyrics, she refused to come on air.  Many people got heated when they found out that an inquiry into this is going to happen, costing you, taxpayers $$$$$$$$!!!!!

Here's my view, take it for what it's worth.  The whole "OWN THE PODIUM" stuff was a waste of money... Yes, it was amazing to see Canadians win so much Gold on home soil, but do you think this anthem changing would have even come up had we not heard O' Canada 14 Million times over the last 2 and a half weeks? Why, in the last 30 years since this new version has been in place have this "group" not come forth???

Even if this group of radicals get their way.... I along with many, will continue to sing the anthem loud and proud but my version will always go "True patriot love, in all thy sons command", cause that's the way we like it!
