Turning Japanese

Starting Wednesday morning, Pete Dalliday will be in for me on the Morning Experience... I'm going to Japan.  Kind of a random place to go for a week holiday.  I've never been on a trip like this before, it's going to be an experience for sure. 

Apparently, I'm a goodwill ambassador!  If you can believe that...  I'm going as a guest of City of Kawartha Lakes Mayor Ric McGee to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Cites of Nayoro and Lindsay twinning (twinning was something cities did in the 70's... nowadays budgets are too tight I'm told).

I've been trying to learn Japanese, those symbols aren't as easy to understand as some would guess.  All week, I'll be sharing with you all the stuff that I've learned.  (Don't expect much)  I'll be posting some pictures and sharing stories on here upon my arrival back on this side of the pond... Providing I don't get detained at customs by the guy with rubber glove.

Anybody been to Japan? Throw some stories my way... What to expect? I'm told Tokyo is like Toronto, minus the stink and rude people... And crappy sports teams!
