French sexpot Brigitte Bardot is 78 today.
The former model, actress, singer, dancer and animal rights activist got her start in 1952.
Here are some things you maybe didn't know about the iconic birthday girl.
Bardot is a huge animal rights advocate. Since the 70s, she has publicly opposed Canadian seal hunts, the transport and slaughter of horses, vivisection, bullfights, industrial animal farms, hunting and the wearing of fur.
Brigitte has been married four times. She has been with her current husband Bernard d'Ormale since 1992.
In 1985, Brigitte Bardot was awarded the Legion of Honour, which is an order established by Napoleon Bonaparte and is the highest decoration in France. Bardot refused it.
She has one son, Nicolas-Jacques Charrier, with her first husband, Jacques.
In the late 1950s, while working on a film, Bardot hooked up with true-crime author John Gilmore who told a French magazine that he "felt a beautiful warmth with Bardot but found it difficult to discuss things in any depth whatsoever."
Ouch.
