It's been over a week since Elton John came back through Peterborough, and while the staff at the Memorial Centre had to work their buns off converting the space from arena, to lacrosse field, to concert hall, Lakeshore Designs was busy putting together a beautiful Elton-inspired room.
Meet Angela Jones.

Angela and her Lakeshore Designs team were the ones responsible for creating a space for Sir Elton.

You've probably seen some pictures of the space already, but it's pretty amazing that the team was able to turn the Peterborough Petes' dressing room into a Brit-inspired space, fit for a king. Or queen.

So, what if you want to create a similar look in your home?
Angela says the first thing they did when putting the room together for Elton, was pick a focal piece -- the Union Jack chair.

The team had some stipulations to work with -- there were guidelines to follow as far as the number of pieces of furniture, colours and lighting. Angela said there was quite a list! But they were given creative control when it came to the theme and feel of the space. They wanted a rock-pop vibe and once they found the chair, the rest of the room began to fall into place.

To recreate the space at home, Angela says to pick a colour scheme that you want to work with and chose furniture that works with that.

Don't worry about mixing patterns and textures, that just adds depth to your look. The navy and white ottoman/coffee table fits with the style of the room because of it's bold pattern and contrasting colour. Play around with shades too, and Angela suggests choosing your wall colour last.
Most importantly, have fun with it!
