Since I was a young man, This Is Spinal Tap has been my favourite movie. For some time when I was younger, just about every other thing I said was some sort of reference to or quote from the film.

Whether it's talking about how the amps are one louder...
Or discussing one's role in the band...

... it's a film chock full o' quotable lines.
One of the more memorable quotes from the film comes when the band finally receive the pressings of their album, Smell The Glove.
To coincide with the film's release in 1984, a soundtrack album was released that shared Smell The Glove's artwork, though it was called This Is Spinal Tap.

Now, Tap fans and vinyl collectors can come together and celebrate, as the album is about to be released on vinyl!

Being a huge fan and collector of vinyl myself, I can't wait to ...
It's no secret that I'm a bit of a gearhead. I've addressed this automotive love in a number of previous blog posts. For example, you might remember THIS ONE from last October when I bought myself a project van.

This is Rosie, the Patchbus.
I spent a lot of time looking for a vehicle to have as a toy. Something to put some time, money and love into. And there were a lot of duds. A few Volkswagen cars, a rotten old Mazda RX-7 that I drove nearly 3 hours to look at, etc. etc. When I came across the ad for Rosie, I was hopeful that this might be the one... But who knows? She is nearly 30 years old.
Fortunately, my dad (who had told me not to buy the previous cars) gave her a pass and we brought her home. She sat for the winter, and then ...
This weekend, The Wolf has been paying tribute to Led Zeppelin's 5th album, Houses of the Holy.

The album, which is the first to contain all original Zeppelin material, turned 40 on Thursday, and we've been celebrating since then by playing lots of Zeppelin (perfect for a Led-head like myself) and giving listeners chances to win a copy of Celebration Day. You can find more details on that HERE.
Where's that confounded bridge?!
Anyway, I thought if we're paying tribute to the band, maybe we should also pay tribute to the bands that have paid tribute to Zeppelin. There have been tons of Zeppelin tribute bands over the years, but none with a more creative take on the tunes than Dread Zeppelin.

Dread Zeppelin began as a group called The Prime Movers, who signed to Island Records in 1986 and had a little success in the UK. When that ended ...
Ever since I was a young child, I've been a bit of a gearhead. I spent a lot of time travelling by car in my childhood days, and to pass the time and feed my hunger for knowledge, I would often pull out the car's owner's manual and read through it. It provided me with knowledge and stimulation for my young brain.

As with any owners manual, there were a few amusing things in there that most people would consider common sense. Even still, I guess the automakers feel the need to cover their asses and make sure they put it in writing.
I came across an article a couple days ago which lists off some ridiculous things found in cars' manuals.
1. 2013 Toyota Prius V

Toyota's hybrid is great if you're looking for fuel savings but have a family to cart around. One warning in the manual seems ...
Whether you're a fan of Metallica or not, you gotta admit that guitarist/singer James Hetfield is a pretty entertaining guy.

For one, he's sported a number of different looks over the years, all with a similar degree of "badass" to them.

YEAH!

OOH!

YEAH-AAH!

YEEEAAAHHHH!
Secondly, he's got an eye for fashion.

It also sounds like he's fun to hang around with... or at least from what comedian Jim Breuer recalls from his time hanging with drummer Lars Ulrich.

You may remember Breuer from his time on Saturday Night Live or his role in Half Baked.

Anyway, on his satellite radio show Breuer Unleashed, he told stories of hanging out with Lars and Metallica. Have a listen, but be forewarned that it contains some coarse language.
And part 2:
Breuer's impression of James is pretty spot-on throughout.
Now, some genius has put this together, and it's pretty much the best ...
