I consider myself a bit of a Kijiji addict. It's not terribly often that I go to Kijiji with something specific in mind that I want to buy. I could spend hours browsing just looking for stuff that I might find interesting. Being a bit of a gearhead, I usually look through the car section for something cheap to play around with.
Well last night as I was browsing around the internet (on sites other than Kijiji), I came across a couple of interesting vehicles for sale.
THE WORLD'S WORST CAR
Apparently someone in Eastern Kentucky thought that, although being a quality piece of machinery, the Pontiac Grand Am could use a little improvement. The best way to do this? Graft the cab and hood of a 1962 International pickup truck onto it.

And for a touch of class, add the front clip of an Oldsmobile Alero on there.
It's called the International Truckcar, and apparently it runs perfectly... or so says the guy trying to sell it. A lot of custom work into this car... and One can't help but wonder why. Despite looking like I would have scribbled on a piece of paper as a child, the Truckcar has a number of modern features, including a fully-functional Oldsmobile dashboard and instrument cluster, fuel-injected engine, cruise control, disc brakes all around and air conditioning (which is apparently the only thing that doesn't completely work - the freon is low). It apparently has a good title as well, titled as an International.

What a beauty front end.
All this can be yours for only $3000!

GENE SIMMONS VOLKSWAGEN BEETLE
Perfect for any KISS fan who's looking for a new ride, this Beetle is located in Denver, Colorado.

I guess the concept behind this one is pretty simple: Ladies love Gene Simmons's tongue, so they're bound to love this bug with a giant replica of Gene's tongue glued to the hood! It's a 1970 Beetle which has been restored with a new engine, new tires and wheels, new floor pans and a new paint job. The craigslist ad went up about a week ago, and claims the car will be ready in 40 days (in time for the KISS/Mötley Crüe show in Denver).

The car is not quite complete, but the seller says you can save yourself some cash and buy it as it is now to finish the restoration yourself.

The asking price for this beast? $10,000 (or less, if you're mechanically inclined).

THE MELVAN
Our next featured vehicle has connections to The Melvins (who have recently become one of my favourite bands), Nirvana AND KISS.

This isn't your average 1972 Dodge Sportsman van. This van was used as a tour van by The Melvins. It's currently owned by long-term Melvins fan Ben Berg, who received the van as a gift from the mother of Melvins founding member Matt Lukin in 1992.

As you can see, it's a pretty standard cargo van, in less than mint condition (as you might expect from a van that's 40 years old. One of the biggest selling points is the custom artwork scribbled by friend of the Melvins, Kurt Cobain.

As rock and roll legend has it, the KISS portrait above was scrawled by Cobain with Sharpies he had stolen from a convenience store. Berg said that he heard Cobain's name is carved somewhere inside the van, but has no idea where.

The Melvan hit eBay back in March. It got 157 bids, but apparently fans have a limit to how much they're willing to spend. That limit? $99,999.99. Unfortunately that bid did not meet the unpublished reserve of $150,000.
You can find the eBay auction for it HERE.
Would you pay $150,000 for the Melvan?
