The song was written by the drummer about his little sister Christy and how fast she was coming of age. The term “Motoring” is used describe his little sister, getting her licence and driving up and down the local main drag. The question that’s asked in the lyrics is “What’s your price for flight, In finding mister right?”
It’s a question ask by girl’s older brother, asking how much of the little sister he knew growing up, is she willing to sacrifice, in order to find “Mr. Right”. that man that will untimely will free her from her small town existence. It wasn’t until after the band had started to play the song live on stage, when the other members started to admit they thought he was saying “Sister Christian” not “Sister Christy” and the name just stuck.
