RIP to actor Alfie Curtis, July 28, 1930 – December 26, 2017 age 87
He was a key part to the Star Wars universe, known for playing one of the drunken aliens in the first movie Star Wars: A New Hope. Alfie played “Dr.Cornelius Evazan”.
Just after Luke Skywalker finds Ben Kenoni AKA “Obi-Wan Kenobi”, they head to a trading post, in search of a pilot, so they can head to the Death Star and rescue princess, from the hologram video found in R2D2. It’s during the famous “Mos Eisley Cantina scene” while Obi-Wan is striking up a deal with a big hair monster known as “Chewbacca” when we first meet Dr.Cornelius Evazan. He’s the alien that picks a fight with the wrong Jedi.
Like most characters in the Star Wars universe Dr. Cornelius Evazan has a back story: was once a promising surgeon, but became notorious for conducting cruel medical experiments. He had a claim to fame on 12 systems, by being wanted for the death penalty… and he sure didn’t like Luke.
