Week one is officially in the books! We had some great nominations, and we’ll continue to perform acts of Christmas Kindness throughout the month… but we wanted to look back on the great causes and people we helped out this week.
Monday, December 4: Santa’s Sleigh. This is a great program in support of the Kawartha-Haliburton Children’s Foundation. You just walk into the Walmart on Chemong Rd. in Peterborough, choose a child’s name off the board, and buy that child a few small items for Christmas. The organization even gives you some suggestions, and you just leave your donation with the folks at the setup in the store! Super easy. Brian bought a toy truck for a 10-year-old boy, and I got some little toys, books, and a dress for a two-year-old girl. Check out the video here:
Tuesday, December 5: This was a fun one… Anna and Thomas actually nominated each other, and neither knew about it! We called them both in to the studio, bright and early, at 5:40am on Tuesday. Anna said Thomas, who works as a roofer, is a very dedicated, hard working man. Thomas credited Anna’s commitment to charity work and volunteering. We had a few things up our sleeves for them, check it out:
Wednesday, December 6: Santa’s for Peterborough Seniors! This program provides Christmas gifts for seniors who may not receive any. Brian bought a fuzzy blanket, hand cream and chocolates for a woman in the area, and Taylor purchased an electric razor, some t-shirts and hygiene products for a local gentleman. We won’t post their names just in case they see this!
Thursday, December 6: We made a house call for this one. Leslie is a nurse who’s on maternity leave at the moment (isn’t the little boo adorable?!) Leslie and her husband, Alex, who works at Trent University, were nominated by Alex’s brother. With a young baby at home, we thought Leslie and Alex could use a night out- so we gave them a $30 gift certificate for Firehouse Subs, and a Cineplex movie package, including two tickets, drinks, and popcorn. We also brought along some Wolf 25th Anniversary t-shirts!
Brian and Taylor’s Acts of Christmas Kindness: Leslie is a nurse on maternity leave at the moment. She and her husband Alex, who works at Trent U, were nominated by Alex’s brother. With a young baby, we thought they could use a night out, so we gave them some gift certificates for Firehouse Subs and Cineplex Theatres, and some Wolf t-shirts too!
There’s still time to nominate someone you think is deserving of a random act of kindness. Find out more here, and stay tuned to 101.5 The Wolf and our social media pages for more of Brian and Taylor’s Acts of Christmas Kindness!
