Just one day after his 74th birthday, swaggering Stones frontman Mick Jagger, gave his fans a gift by releasing 2 new songs. This was a complete surprise as there was no marketing build-up to the release but Jagger felt that the time was right saying “I didn’t want to wait until next year when these two tracks might lose any impact and mean nothing.”
The songs titled “England Lost” and “Gotta Get A Grip” are about the current political and social climate in the UK and the singer adds, “the anxiety [and] unknowability of the changing political situation… We obviously have a lot of problems.”
The tracks themselves are great! It’s amazing that this guy is 74 and still producing relevant music and charting hits. You can check out the new tracks below:
The new solo music by Jagger comes on the heels of a Keith Richards interview where he says the Rolling Stones will be heading into the studio to record new music.
