I’ve written about skateboarding a few times here, though I’m certainly no expert. I can hold my own on a longboard, but once you get me on a regular skateboard and tell me to do tricks, it’s game over for me. Nope, usually I’m just in awe of talented professional skaters like Richie Jackson – click that link there to be impressed. How about the kid who can play the solo from Crazy Train while manualing on TWO boards at once? That’s pretty damn impressive. And do you remember that time Tony Hawk went skateboarding in zero gravity?
That’s all pretty impressive stuff, but they’re using regular skateboards. If they wanted to kick it up even another notch, they might consider doing what the guys at Braille Skateboarding do with their You Make It, We Skate It series. There are a ton of videos in the series, but they’ve actually made it easy for us to enjoy all of them: with a best of compilation.
Where else are you going to find people using random items as skateboards? Items like a guitar, a MacBook, a regular book, a door you’d mount in your house, a circular sawblade, an iPad, or even a skateboard made of glass – they’re all in this pretty damn entertaining video.
I can’t help but be impressed at how easily these guys are able to skate on most of these things. I know I’d hurt myself immediately… And I guess that’s why I’m here writing a blog post about the video rather than actually being in the video.
