I can remember being a kid and pestering my parents endlessly to get me a Power Wheels Jeep or something like that. You know, one of those battery-powered ride-on toys for kids that makes them feel like they’re driving even though they max out at a couple miles per hour and have hard plastic tires that barely grip on anything?

Yeah, one of those bad boys on the left there. I never did get one, either because it wasn’t in the cards financially or I just wasn’t a very good kid. Either way, I’ve long since made peace with that… Although just recently I’ve once again gotten the urge to get one of those, albeit for a completely different reason.
You see, I like cars. Well – vehicles in general. I like driving, I like off-roading, and while I never really get the chance to do it, I like racing too. And if I had Power Wheels ride, I’d be able to do all three at once in what must be the cheapest racing series to get into.
Yes, Extreme Barbie Jeep Racing is a thing, and I want to share this hilarity with you. I just came across it online, but I’ve found a number of videos of this “sport” through numerous years.
Let’s start with a video from 2016, shall we? There’s also a pretty good explanation of the rules right at the start:
And here’s one from 2015:
The POV shot near the start of that one really gives you an idea how hard it can be to control those things all the way down.
And heck, you know I could paste an entire YouTube playlist into this blog, but it might just make more sense to give you a link so you can pick and choose videos at your leisure… So check out said playlist HERE, and I’ll transition to the crash compilations (because let’s be real, that’s all you really want to see).
Well, folks… I think I’ve found my calling in life.
