Man, the internet is great, isn’t it? So much information, so much weirdness, so much to discover – it can be hard to know where to start when you go looking for entertainment. Fortunately, I’ve found a good jumping off point if you’re a fan of music and/or animals.
Now there’s all kinds of crazy cover songs on YouTube. I’ve featured some of them in my series of Patchy’s Inappropriate Instrumentals blog posts. Very few, if any, of them have made me laugh out loud while watching them.
But then I found this glorious video someone put together using animal sounds to cover System of a Down‘s Chop Suey! And laugh out loud I did. Very loud.
Being a big fan of SOAD myself, I loved that, and was quite pleased to find another song of theirs that had been given the same treatment:
Love you some animal metal? How about Slipknot‘s Duality?
What about The Pixies? They’re in on this too:
There’s one for Evanescence‘s Bring Me To Life, because of course there is.
I used to screw around playing The White Stripes‘ Seven Nation Army on a keyboard using dog or cat sounds instead of musical instrument sounds, so this one really hits home for me:
We know Chester Bennington probably won’t be leaving Linkin Park anytime soon (given that he quit STP to focus more on them again), but if they ever did find themselves in need of a new vocalist, perhaps one of these animals would fit the bill of what they’re looking for.
Not enough classic rock for you? That’s okay, Queen has that covered:
I hope you all laughed as hard at those as I did.
