It’s Canada Day today, our country’s 149th birthday. It’s also the day when Canadians (an already fiercely patriotic people) push displays of affection for our homeland to an extreme.
There are plenty of celebrations happening in the Kawarthas, with parades happening in many of the smaller communities. Here in Peterborough, we get a special edition of Peterborough Musicfest featuring music from Powerhouse: Chicago, a tribute to Chicago – AND it’s one of the couple times a year we get treated to fireworks over Little Lake!
But the patriotism isn’t limited to just Canadian cities and towns – it’s even running rampant on the internet! Plenty of Canadians have taken to Reddit to celebrate Canada Day in various ways. This post came from a guy who was paid by a BC outfitting company to go camping in Backcountry BC and document the trip with plenty of photos and videos.
It’s obviously on the complete other side of the country, but if you’ve ever had any inclination at all to go west and explore our beautiful country, this will surely elevate that quite a bit!
Just more reasons to love our beautiful country!
