It’s been a date many rock fans have been anticipating for a while – whether for good reasons or bad: The day Axl Rose played his front show as AC/DC‘s lead vocalist.
It’s still not clear what the deal between the band and Brian Johnson is, but the band has played it off that it was partly his decision too, which contradicts what comedian Jim Breuer said Johnson’s feelings on the matter were. But some more details have come to light now on just how Rose came to be involved with the band. It was not, as some people surely suspected, Rose trying to muscle his way into the band. In fact, he wasn’t even sure what songs he would be able to sing. But it was through a Guns ‘N’ Roses crew member that Rose offered his assistance if it could be used at all, only to learn said crew member had already thrown Axl’s name into the hat.
So, whether you like it or not, Axl/DC is now a thing, and you know what? It’s not terrible.
