Have you ever tried on “Drunk Goggles?” If you’re not familiar, they’re goggles that are designed to distort your vision to simulate what you would see if you were drunk… And they’re pretty effective.
Obviously, once you reach the legal drinking age, you can get the same effects by, you know, getting drunk. For young teenagers who have never had that experience, however, it can be a bit of an eye-opener.
I had the chance to try on a pair of these goggles once. I want to say it was in high school, when I was at Crestwood. I remember being amazed at how difficult basic tasks were with them on. I think I probably had to walk a straight line, which went about how you would expect it… But it certainly didn’t have the big finish that this 14-year-old student puts on hers. Seriously, watch this right to the end:
That girl is going to make one sloppy drunk someday, I think.
Of course, most drinking occurs during the nighttime hours, leaving folks when they’re drunk just to go home, pass out in bed, and wake up with a pounding headache and overwhelming nausea the next morning. But could you imagine going through a whole work day hammered?
I don’t think that sounds like fun to anyone, really. However, some staffers from Buzzfeed decided to try and get through a work day with drunk goggles on… And the results are pretty hilarious.
It’s amazing how much difficulty people have walking a straight line even when they’re only simulated drunk! I guess that’s why police use it to decipher if a driver is drunk during a roadside stop.
So, you know… Don’t drink and drive, and don’t drink and work, unless your job is working at a brewery or something like that and you have to sample the beer.
