It’s been now almost a week since Super Bowl 50, and people are still talking about it. The halftime show which was judged by many to be “meh” (though I was entertained enough, myself), Peyton Manning‘s shout out to Budweiser following the game that very likely broke NFL and FTC rules, The awful turf, Cam Newton walking out on his post-game interview, Greg Olsen shaving his “lucky” beard, and of course… Eli Manning‘s reaction to seeing his brother’s team all but seal the deal in the big game… If you haven’t seen it yet, you are among the minority. Have a look:
Right away, everyone thought this was a sign of some sort of sibling rivalry. Since it first got public attention, however, both Manning brothers have chimed in to explain the moment. Eli said that he was just focused on whether or not the Broncos would go for a 2-point convert (which they successfully did) to make it a 2-touchdown game. There was 3 minutes left, at that point. Peyton chimed in saying something along the lines of “You might compare rings with your brothers, but that’s not what we do.”
So naturally, when Peyton went on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, there were questions about it.
Some people just don’t emote that much – and that’s fine. And as you’ll see toward the end of this clip, there’s no love lost between the brothers, because it sounds like they’re going to be teaming up to lay an ass-beating on poor ol’ Jimmy Fallon. I guess that’s what happens when you make a living off making fun of NFL players.
Later on in the show, Manning faced off against Magic Johnson in a game of Egg Russian Roulette.
I could never imagine Peyton Manning and Magic Johnson with egg on their faces… But there’s a very literal take on it!
