Two teens were out joyriding yesterday afternoon…on the Otonabee River
They floated down the Otonabee River on an ice floe.
City firefighters, police and paramedics were dispatched to the London St. bridge area around 1:30 p.m. after they were spotted on the ice floe south of the Parkhill Road Bridge floating at a fairly rapid rate.
They deliberately went out on the ice floe and were later rescued by firefighters. They told police they didn’t want to be rescued but were unaware of an hydro dam and fast current ahead.
They were warned about their reckless and dangerous actions. No one was injured. No charges were laid.
