Sometimes you come across a story that really makes you scratch your head and wonder what the folks involved were thinking. Then again, when it’s stoners involved, I guess nothing should really be surprising.
This actually happened about a year ago, on January 23, 2015 – but the 911 calll was just released. This video report was just uploaded yesterday, and already has about 160,000 views.
As the story goes, these two young men were in the process of delivering 20 pounds of weed from Vegas to Montana when they made the classic mistake – they sampled the goods. Not surprisingly, the young men developed a bit of paranoia as they crossed the border into Idaho and started to think that every passing car was an unmarked police cruiser – which was not the case. Their 911 call is the stuff of legends… Check it out.
According to the Post Register, police also received another call about them:
Rexburg Police also had received a call of suspicious behavior after Ayala-Doliente and Sward were seen removing items from their car and setting them on the side of the road, and putting their hands on their heads when cars drove by. Officers arrived to find a wire dog cage filled with 20 pounds of marijuana separated into 1-pound bags.
At the end of the report, the reporter mentions how the one guy tested positive for marijuana at his sentencing… But that wasn’t the only thing. According to the news article I linked above, he also tested positive for cocaine and oxycodone that day. Needless to say, he received a stiffer penalty because of it.
What’s the moral of the story here? Don’t traffick drugs, and you won’t have a reason to get paranoid about every passing car. Pretty simple, really.
