When working in radio it’s always fun when the bossman calls you into the office because you’re probably not in trouble. In fact, in our industry it means he may have some swag for you. So it was much to my surprise last week when the bossman stopped by the studio on Saturday during my shift to present me with a brand-spanking-new set of Sennheiser HD 280 Pro Studio Headphones. I was blown away! This isn’t just a free t-shirt or even concert tickets; this is high-end swag.
Needless to say that my new headphones were put to good use in the Wolf studios making my radio shifts sound amazing. The music is so vibrant and my voice sounds so crisp that it gives me that little extra Mojo making my show even more fun to produce.
Then it dawned on me – why am I just using these at work??? I have a home studio that I use to record music. I play guitar and saxophone but my real love is the bass. This week I had some tracking to do and I realized that my new Sennheiser HD 280 Pro Studio Headphones would be a lot nicer to listen to than my crappy old monitors so I brought them home.
I’ve got a saying, “Sound good, feel good. Feel good, play good” and these new studio cans totally prove it! The overall band mix was fantastic and I could hear the differentiation between all the instruments but best of all, my bass sound was fantastic. When you don’t have a proper monitor bass can sound muddy, meaning there’s a complete lack of definition. I guarantee you won’t have that problem with these headphones. My bass sounded crisp and tight making my tracking duties a lot easier and much more fun!
A big thank you and two-thumbs-up to our friendsat Sennheiser for my new HD 280 Pro Studio Headphones. They’re the best headphones I’ve had the pleasure of using. As a music lover and a music maker, I appreciate the quality of listening to music in high definition.
