I learned something today.
Today I learned that the New York Rangers have a post-game tradition involving a jaunty topper — and I like it.
It started with this story about Rangers’ d-man Kevin Klein. He got a high-stick to the ear, and had to get 13 stitches to, essentially, reattach the thing.
Then he went back out and scored the game winner in overtime.
You know what I did yesterday?
But the story about Klein had a part in it that I couldn’t get out of my mind. What the heck is with that silly-ass hat?
Turns out, the Broadway Hat is a thing that the Rangers have been doing for a while now. After each Rangers win, one player is awarded the hat for his outstanding performance in the game.
The hat even has its own twitter account and this was posted last night.
