The world of hockey is mourning the loss of Pat Quinn. The former NHL player, coach and executive died at the age of 71. Quinn played parts of nine seasons in the N-H-L and went on to enjoy a long coaching career.
Yesterday the Maple Leafs organization posted this article, The Legacy of Pat Quinn, which touches on his size, grit, passion for the game and intelligence.
“Six-three and 215lbs he was invariably defined by his two most prominent features: he was big and he was Irish.”
“A Pat Quinn press conference was a tutorial, patiently delivered and occasionally spiked with whimsy. Sometimes you could see him standing back, enjoying his part in the circus.”
You just know he was and still is an incredibly respected guy. Just look at the video tribute the Vancouver Canucks put together.
