There are tons of videos of news bloopers out there. They’re often hilarious, too, because you wouldn’t necessarily expect the person you trust with all your news needs to screw up, or burst out laughing in the middle of a serious story, or start giving sports stats in the middle of a story about rape…
Another one of my personal favourites is Fox 5 WNYW anchor Ernie Anastos with a little slip of the tongue. I think he was trying to say “Keep pluckin’ that chicken,” whatever the hell that means. That’s not what he said though…
There’s tons more great videos where it’s the news anchors or reporters at fault for a blooper. There’s also tons of great news bloopers out there that don’t involve the crew. One of the more famous videos that’s been making the rounds on the internet is this guy:
If you recognize this guy, you already know what he’s famous for. Aside from looking uncannily like my father, he’s managed to interrupt TWO news reports with the same profane phrase.
The latest blooper not involving the news crew to make the rounds is the video of a drug deal going on behind a reporter doing a live report on Fox 25 in Worcester, Massachusetts.
I want to believe that this is an actual real drug deal, but I have a hard time believing two people would be that stupid. There’s a decent chance that the guys saw the reporter with his camera set up and decided it would be a fun prank to pretend they’re doing a drug deal. I mean, I’m no expert on drug deals, but I would imagine that they don’t often take place right out in the open in a big park. And in such an open space, I feel like it would be hard to miss the reporter and his camera. Then again, depending on what kind of drugs they’re sharing, they might not notice much about their surroundings at all.
Regardless of whether or not it was real, the news anchors (and I’m sure everyone watching) got a good laugh from it.
What’s the best news blooper you’ve ever seen?
