As the World Cup of Soccer tournament continues in Brazil, some people are now taking their soccer ball to the golf course.
Footgolf is a combination of soccer and golf.
Football is played on a regular golf course that’s modified to provide larger holes on the green for a soccer ball to drop into. The rules of Footgolf are the same as golf. You start at the tee and kick it as hard as you can towards the green. You have to avoid the sand traps, water hazard, the trees, etc. The player who plays the 9 or 18 holes with the fewest shots wins
There’s 4 courses in Ontario, the closest being Carruthers Creek in Ajax.
To play you just need to sign up as a member of the Canadian Footgolf Association. You will not be able to play on an official FootGolf Canada approved course without a membership. It’s $15 a year for adults and $10 for kids. Footgolf.ca
