Peterborough’s Corey Perry will be formally recognized at City Council this Monday (June 30,2014).
He will be given a key to the City by Mayor Bennett in recognition of his well
deserved success and acclaim on hockey’s national and international stages.
Corey Perry was born on May 16, 1985 in Peterborough, the first of two boys born to Geoff and Nancy Perry.
He played minor hockey in Peterborough before being drafted to the Ontario Hockey League’s
London Knights where he captured a Memorial Cup in 2005 and was named MVP
Corey was selected 28th overall by the Anaheim Ducks in
the 2003 NHL Entry Draft and has spent his entire career with the NHL franchise.
He has amassed an impressive array of championships and individual awards
throughout his career:
