So Suey “the Rock & Roll Puppy” and I, tried another round of Fetch in the Water the other day.
I stopped by “the Pet Store” on our way to Rogers Cove. I asked the young lady at the counter to suggest something for fetch, that floats, and is cheap because the dog may totally forget about this toy the second she hits water in pursuit of a duck for half hour and this toy may never be seen again, after I watch it float over lock 19, with my dog following it!
The young lady took me over to the main display, with the obviously most expensive toys on the rack, with Frisbees, and pull toys, costing upwards of 20-30 bucks! She clearly understood what I went, when I said “Cheap”! I found a 2 pack of Bright Orange Over Sized Tennis Balls for 10.99! Son of a bitch! but I felt I found the best deal with what was available, My thought process being that if I lost one of the Balls and providing the dog lives through this, I’ll still still have a Big Bright Orange Tennis Ball!
I complained in outrage to the young counter clerk about the outrageous prices of the Balls! Debating this young woman, whether the dog would be able to destroy these Bright Orange Balls, and would I be able to bring the Balls back for refund or could I exchange the Balls exchange if the dog ate my Balls!
the Puppy and I made our way over to the north side of Little Lake to Rogers Cove, right here In good’ol Peterborough Ontario! The sun was shining, the birds were chirping, and there were no ducks, or water fowl, of any kind in sight!
I took Suey off her leash and her played a few rounds of fetch with her on dry land!
Things were going great, with the running and retrieving! So I launched the Oversize Bright Orange Tennis out into the Dreaded waters of Little Lake, the dog followed as Planed! ANNNNNNDDDD!
Here is what followed! Turn the Volume WAY DOWN!
