It’s election time. A time when all the parties remind us about the mistakes that the other parties made when they were in charge while the rest of us wonder if we’re letting the inmates run the asylum. So it’s with great pleasure, that I see other countries have politicians that make ours look like Nobel laureates. The cement heads running the French government have admitted that they ordered 2000 trains that are too big for their rail system and it will now cost 80 million Euros (approx 120 million CDN) to reconfigure the station platforms to allow the wider trains to pass through. Now the French Transport minister is trying to blame previous governments for the crappy rail system but that’s just a guy trying to polish up a turd and call it a truffle. The rule is measure twice, cut once or in your case if you order 2000 trains make sure that they fit before you cut the check. You didn’t do that which is why you’re this week’s proof that you can’t fix stupid!
