Forget debit cards and credit cards… Pay for purchases with the veins in your hand
You know the feeling: you’re waiting in the line at the checkout when you realize you’ve forgotten your wallet. But what if you could pay for purchases just by using your hand?
Swedish company Quixter has developed a payment method based on “vein-scanning.”
The technology works by scanning the unique vein patterns in each person’s palm.
Users simply key in the last four digits of their phone number before holding their hands over the scanner. The process takes less than five seconds.
It is currently being used at 15 different spots at a University campus in Sweden, with around 1,600 users.
