Fall’s here, temperatures are starting to cool down and what better way to warm up on a cool fall night than with a can of steaming hot ginger-ale. This season, Coca-Cola is introducing the new product in vending machines all over Japan.
The cans will be fitted with a button, which, when pushed, will cause water and calcium oxide to mix in an outer chamber of the can that will heat the ginger ale (the outer shell of the can will protect the consumer from burns.)
Coca-Cola has been working for four years to find a way to keep the ginger ale carbonated through the heating process and they say they’ve finally perfected it.
Coca-Cola has also tweaked the recipe of the ginger ale just a bit…adding a splash of apple and cinnamon
It’ll launch October 21 and be available in vending machines all over Japan. A 6 ounce can will cost 120 Japanese yen ($1.20)
